ElektraGo

Web & Mobile App Development for Cross-Border FinTech (US & Mexico)

Client Snapshot

  • Industry: Financial Services / FinTech
  • Services: Web & Mobile App Development · Architecture · Cybersecurity/Platform Hardening · Team Augmentation · Technical Recruiting (ElektraGo team)
  • Timeline: Aug 2021 – Ongoing
  • Engagement size (reported): ~$400k invested
  • Team: 6–8 teammates (4–6 developers + PMs/Architects/UX/UI)

The Challenge

Building a fintech product for cross-border flows requires more than “shipping screens”—it requires correctness, security, and compliance-driven engineering. The client needed to:

  • Build a product that allows users to open/access a bank account digitally and send money internationally—with a UX simple enough for mass adoption.
  • Execute in a regulated environment where sponsoring bank clearance is a gating dependency—requiring parallel workstreams and strong delivery discipline.
  • Scale engineering capacity quickly by integrating external talent into the core team, while maintaining quality and fintech-grade standards.

What Axented Did (Approach & Delivery)

  • End-to-end platform development: delivered the product from scratch across Android, iOS, and web, combining delivery velocity with maintainable engineering practices.
  • Hybrid delivery + team augmentation: embedded with the client’s existing team, ran discovery to understand constraints, and then added a multidisciplinary squad (developers, PMs, architects, UX/UI) to accelerate execution.
  • Architecture + cybersecurity hardening: provided senior architecture and security expertise to align the platform with fintech-grade expectations in Mexico and the U.S. for cross-border payments (secure design, platform hardening, and operational readiness).
  • Recruiting & team-building support: beyond delivery, we helped the client recruit and assemble much of the technical talent powering the ElektraGo initiative, ensuring continuity and long-term ownership inside the organization.
  • Operational model: strong project governance using monday.com, with daily coordination and fast feedback loops through Slack + Zoom

Solutions Implemented

  • Multi-platform product surface: mobile + web experiences engineered to support onboarding, account access, and cross-border money movement at scale.
  • Parallel-track execution model: delivery structured to keep technology moving while external banking approvals progressed—so the platform could be production-ready ahead of launch.
  • Scale-ready engineering foundation: architecture and DevOps practices designed for reliability, security, and future growth (especially important for regulated fintech workflows).

Results

  • Technology ready ahead of external approvals: the platform engineering work progressed to readiness before sponsoring bank approval, positioning the product for launch once clearance is granted.
  • High client satisfaction with engineering quality: the client highlighted Axented’s development quality, technical expertise, and flexibility as key differentiators.
  • Long-term partnership model: ongoing collaboration since Aug 2021, integrating delivery + staffing support to sustain momentum.

Team & Delivery Model

  • Architect / Tech Lead: System architecture, fintech-grade standards alignment, security-by-design guidance, and technical direction across web + mobile.
  • Backend Engineers: Core financial workflows, data modeling, integrations, and reliability patterns for regulated environments.
  • Mobile Engineers (iOS/Android): Native app delivery, secure client-side patterns, and performance/UX implementation.
  • Frontend Engineers (Web): Web platform implementation, component systems, and cross-browser performance.
  • UX/UI Designers: End-to-end user journeys, high-fidelity UI, design systems, and developer handoff for onboarding and transactional flows.
  • Project Manager (PM): Sprint planning, delivery governance, backlog prioritization, cross-team coordination, and release planning.
  • Operating model: Client-led program management with Axented providing execution horsepower; tight daily coordination and tooling.

Border

The technical team is remarkable; they’re definitely more talented than other software companies.
